General Notes on Use

Data entries are generally in the form of numbers. Unacceptable entries will produce an error message. These messages can sometimes be cryptic, but there is ususally some indication of the offending input. Numbers cannot have the fortran E format to express exponents. The correct method for entering large numbers is to use the symbol ^ to represent an exponent. For example, two million would be entered 2 10^6. The space between the two and the ten implies multiplication (the * symbol also means multiply). The calculations are all unit-free. The user is responsible for the consistancy of units.

Users should understand that calculations are being performed on an MSC server. Because this currently a free site, we cannot guarantee the response time.
